London - Manufacturing & Process Engineer - Weld Process Architect

As a Weld Process Architect, you will define the architecture of welding processes on a global scale, including joint ventures and partnership plants. Your role encompasses both process and product considerations, factoring in industrial constraints.
- Operate globally across welding shops, JV, and partnership plants, focusing on processes and products.
- Engage in all project phases, from early exploration to life series developments, significantly impacting the process.
- Ensure the Welding Engineering Department delivers the efficient process or master plan to the customer.
- Make decisions regarding product/process feasibility, body shop master plans, and quantifying industrial investments.
- Converge investments and workforce requirements.
- Manage performance indicators for process design: investments, surfaces, workforce efficiency, robot workload, ergonomics, and compliance with technical standards.
- Analyze initial industrial assumptions from the Strategic Plan and Product hypotheses.
- Suggest product optimizations and simplifications.
- Enforce technical standards.
- Promote carry-over and reuse solutions.
- Supervise and update master plans.
- Participate in the evolution of technical standards.
- Degree in Welding Engineering Technology or Bachelor's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in an Automotive OEM.
- 5 plus years of proven experience with welding technologies.
- Strong skills in process planning, investment management, and technical standards.
- Solid understanding of welding processes, weld parameter development, resistance and fusion welding, and weld conformance tracking.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including stamping, welding, molding, and assembly.
- Experience with robotic weld cell integration, launch, and productionizing.
- BIW Geometry Tool & Process Design experience.
- Knowledge of Safe Operating Procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Consistent record to balance multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools: Excel, Access, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- American Welding Society Accreditations.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and risk management tools like PFMEA.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and process optimization methodologies.
- Experience with process validation, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
- Proficiency in CAD/process simulation tools.
- Project management experience.
