Consumer Deposit and Lending Compliance Officer

Adecco is actively seeking a Consumer Deposit and Lending Compliance Officer to join our client’s team in Toronto, ON. This full-time hybrid role ($150K–$165K) focuses on regulatory compliance for consumer banking products. You’ll advise on laws and regulations (e.g. FINTRAC, OSFI, FCAC), support audits, and lead compliance initiatives across Canada, the U.S., and India. Requires 10+ years in financial services compliance and strong knowledge of Canadian banking regulations.

  • Pay Rate: $150k-$165/year.
  • Location: Toronto, ON | Hybrid – 2 days per week (or as needed) in-office
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on regulations impacting banking, credit, and payments.
  • Interpret and implement new/existing multi-layered regulatory requirements.
  • Advise on complex and emerging compliance risk scenarios.
  • Liaise with regulators, examiners, legal, audit, and compliance teams during reviews.
  • Analyze and assess policy, procedure, and control gaps to ensure compliance.
  • Provide regulatory effective challenge across issue management, product changes, and testing.
  • Create reports for management and executive teams on compliance matters.
  • Develop governance documentation and program-level compliance workpapers.
  • Serve as a strong independent contributor and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of regulations (e.g. FINTRAC, FCAC, PIPEDA, OSFI, CDIC).
  • Communicate compliance changes to business partners and facilitate implementation.

Requirements:

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Minimum 10 years in compliance, risk, or legal roles within financial institutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian banking laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrated innovation and process improvement in previous roles.
  • Willing to work across time zones (Canada, U.S., India).
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.
